Accomplishments
Since taking office in 2021, Mayor Thaddeus Jones has ushered in a new era of real progress. As our Mayor, Thaddeus has put Calumet City back on track and will continue to get things done.
- Secured millions in grant money to hire 20 new, full time police officers
- Twenty-one officers on neighborhood bike patrol adding a strong police presence throughout our community
- Won over $65 Million (at no cost to us) for stormwater management to help solve Cal City’s flooding issues
- Operated the city on a balanced budget – cutting and prioritizing spending just like families do
- Froze the city property tax rate for four years – no increase
- Boosted private sector, commercial development attracting 90 new businesses – creating good jobs and enhancing our commercial tax base
